The Concord Food Collaborative represents people interested in sharing and learning more about gardening, cooking, institutional food procurement and other food and farm related opportunities and events in Concord and the surrounding area.
It includes people with diverse interests and skills who are interested in and actively working towards a resilient, sustainable food system in Concord, and surrounding communities in Massachusetts.
In November 2009 several local groups* hosted a screening of Food, Inc. and a speaker forum as part of their Life in the Balance public forum series.
From the discussion sessions at the speaker forum, committees were created to set agendas, action items and outreach strategies to improve school food, support the vibrant local agriculture and build community around the important issues of sustainability, wellness, and climate change.
This website was established soon after to build a community of information sharing and establish local food connections to strengthen a healthy, accessible, and sustainability local food system.
